  • Schism Part 1

    The Catholic Church is no stranger to Schism as Jesus Christ predicted that he would be betrayed by his very own (John 13:18-30).  Rev Joseph Iannuzzi notes that both Sacred Scripture and approved prophetic revelations predict within the Church an imminent crisis.  It will be precipitated by a split within the hierarchy of the Catholic Church and accompany the Roman Pontiff’s flight from Rome (Antichrist and the End Times, Rev Joseph Ianuzzi; 2005, pg 27).  In a previous post (here) I described how the Catholic Church could find itself without a Pope.  Here, I would like to look at the question of Schism in the Church.

    Schism is the refusal of submission to the Roman Pontiff or of communion with the members of the Church subject to him (Catholic Catechism 2089).  Our Lord declared Saint Peter the Head of The Church (i.e. making him The Pope):  “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (Mathew 16:17-19).  Nonetheless, schisms have occurred in the Catholic Church over the centuries.  The most memorable of these was the schism of 1054 when the Eastern Orthodox Church rejected the Papacy.  This was later followed by Martin Luther who commenced the Protestant Reformation in 16th century.  Schism is also predicted in the Old Testament in the books of Zechariah and Ezekiel.

    As prophesied in Zechariah Chapter 13:7-9: “Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, against the man who stands next to me,” says the Lord of hosts.  “Strike the shepherd, that the sheep may be scattered;  I will turn my hand against the little ones.  In the whole land, says the Lord,  two thirds shall be cut off and perish,  and one third shall be left alive.  And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested.  They will call on my name, and I will answer them.  I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’ 

    The prophet Ezekiel gives us a reason for this apparent “striking of the shepherd”:  …Thus says the Lord God: Ho, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding yourselves!  Should not shepherds feed the sheep? You eat the fat, you clothe yourselves with the wool, you slaughter the fatlings; but you do not feed the sheep. The weak you have not strengthened, the sick you have not healed, the crippled you have not bound up, the strayed you have not brought back, the lost you have not sought, and with force and harshness you have ruled them. So they were scattered, because there was no shepherd; and they became food for all the wild beasts. My sheep were scattered, they wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill; my sheep were scattered over all the face of the earth, with none to search or seek for them……. I will rescue my sheep from their mouths, that they may not be food for them (Ezekiel 34:4-12).  

    Reminiscent of the state of the Church just prior to the Protestant Reformation (see here) the True Life In God (TLIG) messages are replete with descriptions of poor leadership and rebellion by the clergy of the Church:  I, the Lord, journeyed through the earth to warn the world that the Enemy will come upon them like an immense wave to swallow them, but no one really believed that Satan would ever penetrate the gates of My Sanctuary, [i.e The Church] and yet he has …. he walked right into My Sanctuary through the sins and errors of My Own [i.e. the clergy, priests and bishops] who to this day oppose the shepherd I have given you [i.e. Pope John Paul II at that time]; so how can you expect My lambs [i.e us, the sheep] to respect those priests when they themselves rebel against My chosen one? they pay no attention to My shepherd….….…conspiracy, My child; conspiracy and traitors go together; when Death had been climbing in at the windows of My Sanctuary and making its way well in into the heart of My House, I had sent My Mother to warn you; [at Fatima in 1917 after Modernism started creeping into the Church] 

    – I am telling you there is a conspiracy among the shepherds who oppose the leader of them all; and the Destroyer [satan] leads them to profane My Holy Name and the rebellious spirit thriving within them now will exteriorise itself; have you not read, have you not understood? “a wretch will rise and his forces will come and profane the sanctuary citadel; they will abolish the Perpetual Sacrifice and install the disastrous abomination there [as in Daniel 11:31]… he will consider himself greater than all the gods and will utter incredible blasphemies against the God of gods, and he will thrive until the wrath reaches the bursting point, and he will confer great honours on those who will acknowledge him, by giving them wide authority…. this rebellious spirit will win over the people of the world.” (True Life In God, message: 01/06/1993)

    Since Modernism crept into the Catholic Church from the later part of the 19th century, there has been a growing tension between so-called progressive elements of the Church and those who adhere to tradition.  More recently, we have seen these tensions spill over with such events (amongst others) as the suppression of the Latin Mass and the “Synodal Way” of the German branch of the Catholic Church.  These tensions have often been related to issues of sexuality, child abuse, feminism and Church governance.  There have been repeated challenges to Church doctrine over these and other issues in The Church for some decades, increasingly so since the 1960s.  It is conceivable that this tension may eventually spill over into open schism in the hierarchy of the Church, most likely when it is without a Shepherd. 

    In my previous post Why Now: 2033 I outline why I think that the year 2033 is significant as the 2000th Jubilee of our Redemption.  For those who like to play the numbers game, there are some other curious dates that line up with the year 2033.  Counting backwards 70 years (one seven) from 2033, brings us to 1963.  In his novel “Windswept House”, Malachi Martin described a ceremony for the “Enthronement of Satan” in the Vatican.  Malachi Martin described his novel as “faction”, i.e fact presented as fiction.  This ceremony allegedly took place on June 29, 1963.  However, there is no hard evidence available that this event actually occurred.  Nonetheless, this was the beginning of the Pontificate of Pope Paul VI who had been elected just prior to the time this alleged ceremony took place.  This is not to suggest that Pope Paul was in any way connected with this alleged ceremony, far from it!  However, it was also the early days of the Second Vatican Council which had its first session in October 1962.  According to Malachi Martin, the purpose of this alleged ceremony was not to destroy the Church but to: make that organisation (i.e. The Roman Catholic Church) into something truly useful, to homogenise and assimilate it into a grand worldwide order of human affairs.  To confine it to broad humanist – and only humanist – goals. (Windswept House, A Vatican Novel; Malachi Martin, 1996 pg 9).  Such a Church would be devoid of its Spirituality and akin to another Non-Government Organisation (NGO).  Based on humanist principles, such a Church would only encourage the Idolatry of Self (see my post here) and ultimately a betrayal of Jesus Christ and the Gospel.  

    Something changed in the Catholic Church after The Second Vatican Council.  It is apparent to the laity that “modernist” thinking started to take over.  This can only have come from the leadership of the Church.  Albeit with good intentions, the Second Vatican Council heralded the beginnings of the “protestantisation” of the Catholic Liturgy, the introduction of the Novus Ordo version of the Mass and a period of confusion in the Church which motivated Pope Paul VI in 1972 to make his remarks that “the smoke of satan had entered the Church”.  Marian devotion was also not encouraged during this time as rationalism took over.  Since the 1960s the sexual abuse scandal in the Church became widespread and moral decay generally became accepted in the wider community.  We had the so-called “Sexual Revolution” of the 1960s (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_revolution).  Fast forwarding 35 years (i.e. half of a seven) from 1963, brings us to 1998 and we have the beginnings of the Third Age of Antichrist as described by Our Lady to Fr Gobi (Marian Movement of Priests, MMP; see my post here).  Fast forward another 35 years brings us to 2033 which will be the 2000th Jubilee of Our Redemption (see my post here).  Some already complain that The Church has lost its primary mission and has become an oversized NGO.  As I mentioned previously (here), it would only take a small change to the Novus Ordo version of the Mass to put an end to the Perpetual Sacrifice.  This would trigger a schism; but those who know their God will stand firm and take action (Daniel 11:33 RSV).

    In her visions, Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich describes this apparent schism in the context of the Great Tribulation:  I have had another vision on the great tribulation everywhere reigning.  It seemed as if something were exacted of the clergy, something that could not be granted.  I saw many aged priests, some of them Franciscans, and one, in particular, a very old man, weeping bitterly and mingling their tears with those of others younger than themselves.  I saw others, tepid souls, willingly acceding to conditions hurtful to religion.  The old faithful in their distress submitted to the interdict and closed their churches.  Numbers of their parishioners joined them; and so, two parties were formed, a good and a bad one.” (The Life and Revelations of Anne Catherine Emmerich Vol 2, 1976, pg 293).  The “good one” is likely to go under ground and suffer persecution.

    Since the 1960s there has been a preponderance of new theological doctrines, ideologies and churches.  There are now thought to be more than 200 different protestant churches, as various individuals start their own, with their own version of the Gospel (see 2 Timothy 4:3-4).  In the build up to the Advent of the Antichrist in Chapter 13 of the Book of Revelations (i.e Chapter 12) it states: The serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman (Our Holy Mother, Our Lady), to sweep her away with the flood. But the earth came to the help of the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river which the dragon had poured from his mouth. Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus. (Revelations 12:15-17).

    Our Lady explained this “river” from the mouth of the serpent to Fr Gobi (MMP):  The river of water is made up of the collection of all the new theologicaldoctrines, which have sought to obscure the image of your heavenly Mother, to deny her privileges, to restructure devotion to her, and to cast ridicule upon all those who are devoted to her. Because of these attacks of the Dragon, in these years, piety toward me has steadily diminished among many of the faithful and, in some places, has even disappeared. (To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Ed; locution 403).  We now have things like “Liberation Theology” in the Church and the so-called “Gospel of Prosperity” that has taken hold in some parts of the Christian World.  Ultimately though, these are a betrayal of the Gospel and lead to a reliance on Marxist ideology or Money rather than the spirituality of Jesus Christ.

  • 2033 and the 70 Weeks Prophecy of Daniel

    First of all, I make no claims to be a prophet or to know the mind of God (see Romans11:34).  What follows is an estimate at best, based on the available literature and may well be inaccurate.  In my previous post Why Now: 2033?  I explain why I think the year 2033 is significant.  The reader is invited to read that post first.  

    In Our Lady’s description of the End Times to Fr Gobi (see my post here), she urges us to read from the Prophet Daniel: Beloved children, in order to understand in what this horrible sacrilege consists, read what has been predicted by the prophet Daniel:.… (To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Ed; locution 485).  Jesus also quoted from the Prophet Daniel when describing the End Times to His disciples (Mathew 24:15).  Here, I would like to expand on the date 2033 and see how it fits the 70 Weeks Prophecy of the Book of Daniel in the Bible.  

    The 70 weeks prophecy of Daniel (Ch9: 24-27) is believed to entail a period of 490 years to atone for sin and for putting an end to transgression.  It is broken up into three time periods of 7 weeks followed by 62 weeks and then a final 70th one week period.  This corresponds to 49 years, 434 years and a final period of 7 years respectively.  Let us have a look at this prophecy verse by verse.

    From Daniel 9:24 (RSV): …Seventy weeks of years are decreed concerning your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place.

    Prior to their conquest by the Babylonians (around 587 BC), the Jews had been given over to idolatry and moral decay.  The Prophet Jeremiah warned them but they did not listen. When the 70 Weeks of Years prophecy was given to Daniel, the Jews were in exile in Babylon atoning for their sins.  Jerusalem and the Temple had been destroyed.  But a “seal of approval” was stamped on the prophet Jeremiah (Ch 25).  The 70 Weeks Prophecy of Daniel is thought to encompass the period of time after the rebuilding of the Temple and its desecration by the antichrist figure Antiochus Epiphanes around 167 BC.  The prophecy also takes the Jews up to the time of the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ, who they rejected even though they were expecting Him.  As with all of the Word of God, Biblical prophecy is as relevant today as the day it was written and does not return to God until it is accomplished.

    Going back 490 years from 2033 brings us to the middle of the 16th century (1543).  This was a very troubled time for the Catholic Church.  The Church was full of corruption, nepotism and moral decay; even the Pope had a mistress and illegitimate children which he appointed to important positions.  The Church was selling Indulgences as a form of fund raising.  It was in dire need of reform!  Like the Jews in their day, The Church was under attack from within by corruption and the Protestant Reformation after Martin Luther (who was a Catholic Priest) posted his ninety five theses on a Church door.  The Church was under attack from without by the Ottoman Empire (Islam).  The Sack of Rome had occurred in 1527 by mercenary troops of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, many of them Lutheran.  St Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel were used to stable horses at that time.  Earlier attempts at reform of the Church had occurred in the first half of the 16th century.  After a number of delays the Council of Trent finally commenced in 1545.  However, much needed to be atoned for.  

    From Daniel 9:25 (RSV):Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the word to restore and build Jerusalem to the coming of an anointed one, a prince, there shall be seven weeks.  Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again with squares and moat, but in a troubled time.

    Even when the Council of Trent finally got underway, it was interrupted by poor attendance, conflicts and plague.  It finally concluded 18 years later in 1563 after three separate sessions.  Nonetheless, it triggered the Catholic Counter Reformation and is noteworthy for The Catechism of the Council of Trent (1566) and the Tridentine Mass which served the Church for another 400 years (i.e. until the introduction of the Novus Ordo Mass).  The primacy of the Pope was reaffirmed.  The Latin Vulgate became the official biblical text of the Catholic Church and fifty-two of Martin Luther’s Theses were declared heresy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_of_Trent).  The reform of the Catholic Church continued up to the end of the 16th century.  In effect it put a “mote” around the Catholic Church.  The administration of the Church was reformed and “squares” effectively put in place.  The reference in Daniel 9:25 to “An anointed one” could be a reference to St Charles Borremeo who was a Cardinal at that time (i.e. a Prince of the Church) and instrumental in the rebuilding and reform of the Church in the later half of the 16th century.  Despite coming from a wealthy family, St Charles led a life of austerity and personally oversaw the rebuilding of the integrity of The Church.  He established seminaries for the education of Priests.  Corruption was eradicated and the liturgy and doctrine were strengthened.  This created enemies for St Charles, but he survived an assignation attempt.  He later died in 1584.  St Ignatius and St Philip Neri were also active during this time. This brings us to the end of the 16th century and the first period (7 weeks of years) of Daniel’s prophecy.  

    Numerically, the 62 weeks would commence in 1592, i.e. near the end of the 16th century and lasts up until 2026.  This 434 year period of history has certainly been a “troubled time” for the Church.  Europe experienced its “Wars of Religion” from the 16th up until the early part of the 18th century.  The 18th century saw the dawning of the so-called “Age of Enlightenment” which only further undermined Church teaching and authority.  The 18th century also saw The Industrial Revolution commence and culminated in the French Revolution which fostered further persecution of the Church and anti-Catholic sentiment.  Many religious members were executed.  The French Revolution spread war throughout Europe and would eventually give rise to Marxist Atheism which undermined and persecuted the Church throughout the 20th century.  Our Lady clearly identifies Marxist Atheism as the Huge Red Dragon of Revelations Ch 12:3:  The huge Red Dragon is atheistic communism which has spread everywhere the error of the denial and of the obstinate rejection of God. The huge Red Dragon is Marxist atheism, which appears with ten horns, namely with the power of its means of communication, (To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Ed; locution 404)

    On a more positive note, during the Catholic Counter Reformation, devotion to Our Lady flourished.  Devotion to Mary was reaffirmed by the Council of Trent, and subsequently increased in popularity.  Our Lady saw the Church through some of the darkest years and formed her own “mote” around the Church.  Victories over the Ottoman Empire at Lepanto (1571) and Vienna (1683) were attributed to the intercession of Our Lady.  By these victories the Ottoman advance into Europe was finally stalled, but Islam would remain well established in the Middle East and North Africa and continues to be so today.  The reader is encouraged to do their own historical research into this period of time.

    From Daniel 9:26 (RSV): And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off, and shall have nothing; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war; desolations are decreed. 

    The “anointed one cut off” is thought to be a reference to Jesus Christ who was crucified in 33AD.  In our time, it could be a reference to the Vicar of Christ, the Pope being cut-off or taken out of the way as I discussed here.  The “destruction of the city and the sanctuary” may well refer to Rome and/or be a reference to the predicted persecution of the Catholic Church and Christianity in general by the Antichrist (i.e. by “the people of the prince who is to come”).  As I also discussed previously here, wars and desolations are already increasing.

    From Daniel 9:27 (RSV): And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week; and for half of the week he shall cause sacrifice and offering to cease; and upon the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”

    In this last week of the 70 weeks prophecy, this last 7 year period would begin in 2026.  It is believed that the statement in the Book of Daniel: “the prince who is to come” (from Daniel 9:26) is a reference to the Antichrist, who will appear suddenly.  As Our Lady said to Fr Gobi: ’One day, you will see in the holy place he who commits the horrible sacrilege. The prophet Daniel spoke of this. Let the reader seek to understand.’ (Mt 24, 15) (To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Ed; locution 485).

    Given that the Antichrist has to appear before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ (Catechism of The Catholic Church 675) and satan is the Great Imitator and Profaner; the Antichrist may well make his appearance in the next few years coinciding with the 2000th Jubilee of Our Lord’s public ministry on earth.  It is believed Our Lord’s public ministry went for approximately three and a bit years.  As I discussed in a previous post here, for one half of the week, (i.e for three and a half years starting around 2030), the Antichrist will put an end to the sacrifice of the Mass and erect the Abomination of Desolation in the sanctuary, until the decreed end is poured out on the desolator (Daniel 9:27).  As I described in that earlier post, in many ways, the Abomination of Desolation is already set up in the Church.

  • Why Now: 2033?

    Our Lord told us to Read the Signs of The Times and to not be alarmed (see Mathew Ch 24).  I indicated in that post that I believe many of the prophesied events for the End Times are coming to their fulfilment in our time.  Our Lord gives us prophesy and continues to give us prophesy so that we will be prepared.  He also told us that His Word, i.e scripture, must be fulfilled (Luke 24:44-46). He wants His children (that’s us) to have a change of heart, repent, return to Him and be saved.  It is up to us to listen to His Word, read the signs of the times, and lead good lives.

    In Our Lady’s locutions to Fr Gobi of the Marian Movement of Priests (MMP), she predicted the Triumph of Her Immaculate Heart and linked it to the Great Jubilee 2000 (To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Ed; locution 532, pgs 891-893, also referred to as “The Blue Book”).  Through a simple mistranslation of the original Italian of this locution into English, it was thought by many in the English speaking world, that the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart would occur specifically in the Jubilee Year of 2000.  When this did not occur, many gave up on the MMP.  However, from an Italian version of The Blue Book this locution states:  Ti confermo che per il grande giubileo del duemila avverrà il trionfo del mio Cuore Immacolato, che vi ho predetto a Fatima ed esso si realizzerà con il ritorno di Gesù nella gloria, per instaurare il suo Regno nel mondo (Ai Sacerdoti figli prediletti della Madonna; 26th Ed; pg 525 of the PDF).  As you can see the original Italian version does not contain the word “anno” which is Italian for “year” (https://mmp-oceania.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Newsletter-2025.pdf; (“the year” would be “l’anno”).  I have also emphasised the word “per” which means “for” in Italian.  This word “per” also appears to have two meanings in Italian.  The second meaning is: “as a consequence of” or “because of”.  This interpretation is best explained in an article by Fr Gaughran who suggests that the proper translation for locution 532i in the Blue Book is: as a consequence of the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000 and the “Great Grace of Mercy” bestowed on humanity (https://mmp-oceania.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Year-200-article-by-Fr-Gaughran1.pdf).  Hence, no specific date was given by Our Lady for the Triumph of Her Immaculate Heart.

    I propose that we have entered a special 33 year period of grace beginning in the Year 2000 with the 2000th Jubilee of the Birth of Christ.  We continue in that period of grace and are currently celebrating the 2000th Jubilee of Our Lord’s 25th year on earth.  In 2033 the Catholic Church will celebrate the 2000th Jubilee of our Redemption (https://mmp-oceania.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Newsletter-2025.pdf).  Our Lady linked the triumph of her Immaculate Heart to the Great Jubilee 2000 and stated that the Redemption commenced with the Birth of Christ and culminated on Calvary 33 years later:  Adore the mystery of His coming among you. The Eternal Word of the Father assumes, in my womb, His human nature, which permits Him to become a man like you, truly your Brother.  In this very moment, humanity is redeemed, [emphasis added] support is given to weakness, poverty is made noble and to every man the door of His true, supernatural, divine greatness is opened…..and further on Our Lady states:  The Redemption had its beginning at the moment of the Incarnation of Jesus. It continued throughout his life and culminated in the sacrifice of his body, offered for you, and that of his blood, shed for you, a sacrifice consummated on the summit of Calvary and still renewed mystically upon the altar (To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Ed; locution 261m, pgs 379-380).  

    In the very next locution to Fr Gobi entitled “All is Accomplished”, which occurred on Good Friday 1983, Our Lady says to Fr Gobi:  Remain with Me today beneath the Cross, beloved sons, in order to understand the meaning of these words of His (i.e. “All is Accomplished”).  It is Good Friday. It is the day of His passion and of His death on the Cross, it is the precious moment of your redemption….Let us enter into the inmost part of the Heart of Jesus, in order to taste the bitterness in His soul and to penetrate the deep mystery of His immolation.  Everything was accomplished in that instance in which His body was immolated and His blood was shed for you.  Everything in His life was ordered to this supreme moment; [emphasis added] how He desired, every day of His earthly existence, to accomplish this passover of His passion and death for you! (ibid pg 381).  Our Lady makes it clear that Jesus’ whole short life on earth, from the moment of His Incarnation until His immolation on Calvary, was a continuous act of Redemption for the human race.  Every miracle He worked, every Gospel Word He spoke, every prayer He uttered was a continuous act of the Redemption.  Hence, in the year 2000 we commenced the Great Jubilee of the Redemption that will culminate in 2033.  We must remember that time is irrelevant to God and as it says in the Second Letter of St Peter:  But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day (2 Peter 3:8; see also Ps 90:4).  I believe this time we are living in is a special time of grace for us all.

    Our Lady further states in the English version of Locution 586e,: This date (i.e The Great Jubilee 2000)should be particularly significant for you, because I have previously announced to you, for that date, the triumph of my Immaculate Heart in the world (To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Ed).  The translated Italian version says it slightly differently:  That date must be particularly significant for you, because I have foretold [emphasis added]to you the triumph of my Immaculate Heart in the world (Ai Sacerdoti figli prediletti della Madonna; 26th Ed; pg 998 of the PDF). 

    In the coming years, 2029 or 2030 we will begin the 2000th Jubilee of Our Lord’s public ministry.  In 2033 we will be celebrating the 2000th Jubilee of the Passion of Our Lord and our Redemption.  As the Body of Christ this needs to be a very special time.

  • Reading the Signs of The Times

    As indicated in previous posts The Apostasy, The Mark of the Beast, The Rebellion and The Great Tribulation are well underway.  I believe that in line with Jesus’ prophecy in Mathew 24, all of this is coming to its fulfilment in our time.  Throughout the True Life in God (TLIG) messages, Our Lord repeatedly urges us to read the “signs of the times” and that His return is imminent. 

    Our Lady described the signs of the End of The Times to Fr Gobi (To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Ed; locution 485, pgs 801-804).  The first sign she noted was the spread of errors, which lead to the loss of faith and to apostasy.  As it says in 2 Timothy 4: For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths. (2 Timothy 4:3-4; RSV).  The internet is full of individuals sprouting their own myths, legends and conspiracy theories on just about any topic you can think of.  As I stated in my Introduction (here): There is a mountain of “stuff” on the internet.  Most of it is worthless, clearly false, likely of diabolical origin and designed as “click bait” to earn money for the sponsor from advertising.  Do a search of Youtube on the “End Times” and you will get a plethora of wanna-be prophets, trying to make money out of sensationalism.  Jesus warned us this would happen.

    The second sign: is the outbreak of wars and fratricidal struggles, which lead to the prevalence of violence and hatred and a general slackening off of charity, while natural catastrophes, such as epidemics, famines, floods and earthquakes, become more and more frequent. ‘When you hear of reports of wars, close at hand or far away, see that you are not alarmed; for these things must happen. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many places. All this will be only the beginning of greater sufferings to come. Evildoing will be so widespread that the love of many will grow cold[emphasis added]. But God will save those who persevere until the end.‘ (To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Ed; locution 485, pg 802; see also Mt 24, 68.12-13) 

    Since 1900 there have been five pandemics responsible for the deaths of millions.  As noted in my previous post (here) there has been war somewhere in the world every year since the beginning of the 20th century.  While initially, speaking about the war in Ukraine: Pope Francis noted that we are living a third world war fought piecemeal, saying that although Ukraine feels closer, there has been a terrible war in Syria for 13 years, as well as in Myanmar and “everywhere in Africa”. “The world is at war,” he said.  Pope Francis then pointed to something that causes him great worry: an “attitude of indifference”. [emphasis added] In the face of so many poor people, refugees, and people who are suffering this Christmas, there is a terrible attitude of indifference, said the Pope. https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2022-12/pope-francis-interview-canale-5-italian-television.html.  At Cuapa in Nicaragua in 1980 Our Lady told Bernado Martinez that “…if you (the world) don’t change, you will hasten the arrival of a Third World War.” (Antichrist and the End Times” 2005, Fr Joseph Iannuzzi).

    According to the Global Report on Food Crises 2025: In 2024, 295.3 million people – 22.6 percent of the analysed population – faced high levels of acute food insecurity in 53 of the 65 countries/territories selected for the Global Report on Food Crises.  This is the sixth consecutive annual increase (https://wfp.tind.io/record/130664?v=pdf).  Famine appears to be spreading.

    According to USA Facts, the number of natural weather disasters with damages of more than a billion dollars has increased over the last forty years. From 1980 to 2024, the US averaged 9 events per year, while the annual average for the most recent 5 years is 23 (https://usafacts.org/articles/are-the-number-of-major-natural-disasters-increasing/.  Many attribute this to climate change.

    The third sign described by Our Lady to Fr Gobi is the bloody persecution of those who remain faithful to Jesus and to His Gospel (To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Ed; locution 485, pg 802).  As Jesus predicted, The Church has suffered numerous persecutions throughout history.  However, the persecution of the Antichrist is predicted in the Book of Daniel Ch11:  Those who break the covenant he (the Antichrist) will corrupt by his flatteries, but the people who know their God will stand firm and take action.  Those of the people who are learned will instruct many; for some days, however, they will be brought down by sword and flame, by captivity and by plundering. (Jerusalem Bible, Book of Daniel 11:32-33).  It is currently estimated that 1 in 7 Christians face severe persecution across the world.  This figure varies and some places are worse than others.  In Africa the rate is 1 in 5 and in Asia the rate is 2 in 5.  This equates to 380 million Christians facing a high level of persecution across the world at this time (see: https://www.opendoors.org/en-US/persecution/countries/).  During the 20th century, persecution of Christians increased under various Fascist, Communist and Authoritarian regimes.  In 2010 Pope Benedict XVI stated that Christians were the most persecuted group in the contemporary world (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_Christians).Under the Antichrist we could expect this to deteriorate.

    The fourth sign is well described by Our Lady: The Holy Mass [of The Catholic Church] is the daily sacrifice, the pure oblation which is offered to the Lord everywhere, from the rising of the sun to its going down. The sacrifice of the Mass renews that which was accomplished by Jesus on Calvary. By accepting the protestant doctrine, people will hold that the Mass is not a sacrifice but only a sacred meal, that is to say, a remembrance of that which Jesus did at his last supper. And thus, the celebration of Holy Mass will be suppressed. In this abolition of the daily sacrifice consists the horrible sacrilege accomplished by the Antichrist, which will last about three and a half years, namely, one thousand two hundred and ninety days. (To The Priests, Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Ed; locution 485, pg 803).  To date, this has not occurred, however since the Second Vatican Council we have seen an increasing “protestanisation” of the Catholic Mass and liturgical practices.   In 2021 we saw further suppression of the Latin Mass.  It would only take a small change to the Novus Ordo Mass to bring about the abolition of the daily sacrifice.  Given that changes in the Liturgy have come piecemeal over the decades, it is conceivable that most won’t even notice.

    The fifth sign is extraordinary phenomena occurring in the sky.  Our Lady cited as an example, the Miracle of the Sun recorded at Fatima in 1917 where the sun appeared to dance around in the sky before an estimated crowd of 70,000 people.  Our Lady states to Fr Gobi: And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven. All the tribes of the earth will mourn, and men will see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of heaven, with great power and splendour….I have wanted to teach you about these signs, which Jesus has pointed out to you in his Gospel, in order to prepare you for the end of the times, because these are about to take place in your days. (Ibid, pg 804).  Our Lady concludes with: The year which is coming to a close,[1992] and that which is beginning [1993], form part of the great tribulation, during which the apostasy is spreading, the wars are multiplying, natural catastrophes are occurring in many places, persecutions are intensifying, the announcement of the Gospel is being brought to all nations, extraordinary phenomena are occurring in the sky, and the moment of the full manifestation of the Antichrist is drawing ever nearer. (ibid pg 804).

    Numerous people have reported a “Miracle of the Sun” type event at Medjugorje; such as occurred on 2nd August 2009 during an apparition.  The prophecies given to the visionaries at Medjugorje are almost complete and may start to manifest in the coming years.  These events will serve to notify the human race that God is real and many will convert.  At Medjugorje, Our Lady indicated that when the permanent sign appears, it will be too late.  This sign will be given for the atheists. You faithful already have signs and you have become the sign for the atheists. You faithful must not wait for the sign before you convert; convert soon. This time is a time of grace for you. You can never thank God enough for His grace. The time is for deepening your faith, and for your conversion. When the sign comes, it will be too late for many.     A Warning, a Miracle and Chastisement were also predicted at Garabandal in Spain (1961 to 1965) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garabandal_apparitions).  The Warning is said to precede the Miracle by not more than 12 months.  The Chastisement depends upon how the world reacts to the Warning and Miracle.  In the Warning, everyone in the world will see the state of their soul as God sees it.  It would be consistent with Our Lord’s mercy to give us a warning before any Chastisement.  That is why He gives us signs and prophecy.  One of the visionaries, Conchita Gonzales is said to announce the Miracle before it occurs.  Conchita is now 76 years old, a grandmother and lives in the USA.  Garabandal is also mentioned in the TLIG messages, numerous times.  Jesus has described an event like the Warning to Vassula (TLIG): “courage, daughter; courage, beloved ones; I know it is hard to live in wilderness, but the End of these Times are soon with you; soon I will descend to purify you; I, the Lord, solemnly tell you, that I will seize you by surprise, inducing My Light upon you; My Heavens will shake the earth and all those who love Me will glorify Me, bending their knee, and many will remember Me and return to Me; this will be known as the Great Conversion of the Church; but, to My great sorrow, there will be those stubborn souls who blasphemed My Holy Name and who battle on My adversary’s side; these souls will reject Me even more; when this happens, Satan will wipe them away, pulling them with him into the Eternal Fire; (TLIG message 16/08/1998). 

    What is clear is that when these signs appear, there will be no “fence sitters”.  After these events everyone will know that what is occurring is from God and there will be no excuses for the human race.

  • The Rebellion and The Great Tribulation

    A time of wrath or a Great Tribulation, as it is often described, is prophesied in the book of Daniel (Ch’s 10, 11,12).  It begins with a period of wars leading up to: a time of great distress, unparalleled since nations first came into existence (Daniel 12:1).  Since the beginning of the 20th century there has been conflict somewhere in the world every year. It is estimated to have cost 187 million or more lives (https://www.iwm.org.uk/history/timeline-of-20th-and-21st-century-wars).  It is prophesied by Daniel that at some point during this time of wrath, “forces” of the “wretch” (The Antichrist; Daniel 11:21-32) will profane the sanitary citadel; they will abolish the perpetual sacrifice and install the disastrous abomination there (ibid, 12:31).  This is believed to be a prophecy about the Great Tribulation of the Catholic Church.  

    One might ask why does this have to be?  The answer is also found in the Book of Daniel: For putting an end to transgression, for placing the seals on sin, for expiating crime, for introducing everlasting integrity, for setting the seal on vision and on prophecy, for anointing the Holy of Holies (Daniel 9:24).  The plan of redemption ordains that scriptures (The Word of God) must be fulfilled.

    As Our Lord said to Vassula Ryden in 1988: I love you, creation; My entire Church will be renewed; these elements (The Word of God that is overlooked and/or misunderstood) given back to you will embellish It and will perfect It, but first I will crown Peter, Peter-of-My-Lambs; I have given him this name which he will keep;

    I will enter My Temple just as I had done whilst on earth and with My Belt-of-Integrity(emphasis added) strike all those impostors; I will enter with force and overthrow all the money-worshippers;

    I will enter Jerusalem so that the New Jerusalem can begin to see the Light; I will sweep away those blocks and open the Way; this, My Vassula, will be known as the Great Tribulation of My Church; (True Life In God message May 16 1988).  This is likely to be a very painful process.

    The Betrayal of Our Lord Jesus Christ was also predicted in the Old Testament.  He quoted from Psalm 41:9 when he said to His Apostles (including Judas): I am not speaking of you all; I know whom I have chosen; it is that the scripture may be fulfilled, (emphasis added) He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me. (John 13:18) and When Jesus had thus spoken, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me (John 13:21).  Jesus even indicated to His disciples who the traitor was, but they failed to get it!  In our own times, Our Lord has indicated that the Body of Christ, The Church will be betrayed by one of its own.  Are any of us listening.

    The betrayal of Jesus prefigures what will happen to The Church.  It will be “crucified”, but like Jesus, the Body of Christ will rise again as scriptures are fulfilled.  At His discourse on eating His Flesh and drinking His Blood (i.e. the Eucharist), after some of His disciples declined to follow Him anymore He questioned the Twelve if they would do the same.  Peter responded with his famous words “to whom shall we go” and his own profession of faith that Jesus was The Christ, “the Holy One of God”.  But Jesus responded with: Did I not choose you, the Twelve, and one of you is a devil? (John 6:70).  In other words: “I know who you all are”.  Even those who ate at table with Jesus were apt to betray him.  When Jesus was arrested, all his disciples deserted Him and fled.  Peter denied Him at the Sanhedrin before His crucifixion.  As has happened many times throughout Church history, there are those who continue to partake of the Eucharist at table (the Altar) with Jesus who continue to betray Him.  In fact, whenever any of us sin, we betray Him.  That means all of us!

    The Apostle Paul tells us: Rebellion is at its work already, but in secret and the one who is holding it back has first to be removed before the Rebel appears openly (2 Thessalonians 2:7).  Rebellion has been at work in the Church for a very long time.  However, as Jesus also tells us: So I now say to you: You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church. And the gates of the underworld can never hold out against it. (Mathew 16:18).  

    In the early 19th century Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich revealed a multitude of visions.  She often saw The Catholic Church symbolised as St Peter’s Basilica.  After seeing St Peter’s in a ruinous state, Jesus appeared to Blessed Anne Catherine in the following manner: Then I saw my Heavenly Spouse before me under the form of a youth. He spoke to me for a long time.  He told me that this translation of St. Peter’s signified that the Church would apparently fall to total ruin (emphasis added): but that, resting on these supports, she would be raised up again.  Even if there should remain but one Catholic Christian, the Church would again triumph since its foundations were not cast in the intellect or councils of men.  (The Life and Revelations of Anne Catherine Emmerich; 1976, Vol 2, page 300)

    A Great Tribulation has been predicted for the Catholic Church for centuries.  Just as Jesus had to go through His Passion and Calvary, so will His Body, The Church.  Jesus tells us in Mathew Ch24:  So when you see the disastrous abomination, of which the prophet Daniel spoke, set up in the Holy Place (let the reader understand) then those in Judea must escape to the mountains;….(Mathew 24:15-16).  Further, Jesus tells us: For then there will be great distress such as, until now, since the world began, there never has been, nor ever will be again.  And if that time had not been shortened, no one would have survived; but shortened that time shall be, for the sake of those who are chosen (Mathew 24:21-22).

    Even though it is apparent that the Great Apostasy and Rebellion against God are well underway, we must wait for scriptures to be fulfilled.  In 2 Thessalonians 2:6-7 Saint Paul prophesied the “one who is holding him (the Rebel) back has first to be removed”.  There has been much conjecture about who the “one” is holding back the Rebel.  Upon reflection, I say this is the Pope.  Given that the Perpetual Sacrifice has first to be abolished, only a reigning Pontiff could give effect to this.  This would fulfil the prophecy made by Jesus Himself in John 13:21 that one of His own would betray Him.

    How then could the Pope be taken out of the way?  History tells us we have had good and bad Popes over the centuries.  Popes have also been attacked before as we saw with the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II.  However, a number of prophesies have foretold a Schism in The Church, and that it will be without a Pope for a while (e.g. Blessed Anne Catherine and Sister Agnes Sasagawa at Akita in Japan).  Not long before the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima, Saint Pope Pius X foresaw:“one of my successors taking flight over the bodies of his brethren .  He will take refuge in disguise somewhere: and after a short retirement (exile) he will die a cruel death.”  (Antichrist and the End Times, 2005, Fr Joseph Iannuzzi)

    As revealed in the third part of the secret of Fatima, given to the three children on 13 July 1917: …we saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it’ a Bishop dressed in White ‘we had the impression that it was the Holy Father’. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions.     We have had Antipopes in The Church in the past who were not validly elected but claimed the Papacy.  In view of more recent events with the invasion of Ukraine and current global insecurity, there may yet be another war beginning in Europe.  As predicted by Blessed Elena Aiello in 1947,  Rome is said to be ransacked and the Russians will raise their flag over St Peters.  If the Poe escapes, it is very likely he will go into exile and reputedly later dies (as per Pius X) but another Pope would be elected.  However, given the war torn circumstances, one would have to question the validity of this election.  Either way, The Church could be without a Pope for a while.

    In the Old Testament, the prophet Ezekiel (Ch 34) prophesied against the “Shepherds” of the Church who were not “feeding” their “sheep” (the flock) like good shepherds are supposed too.  The sheep were left as prey to wild beasts, they did not look after the sick or poor ones, nor did they bring back the lost.  With the in-roads of “Modernism” since the late 19th century, this is now the sorry state of the Catholic Church today.  Modernism is a theological movement that was viewed as heretical by Pope Pius X who promulgated “The Oath Against Modernism” in 1910 to combat this movement.  It is conceivable that if the Pope, is forced into exile at some point in the future and later dies, the Modernists in the hierarchy of the Church may elect one of their own, but he will not be a true Pope.

    It has also long been known that Freemasonry has infiltrated into the hierarchy of the Catholic Church and into the Vatican and they have steadily worked over many decades to undermine the Church and the practice of the Faith. .  The Pope of the Catholic Church is the figure that, so far, has been holding up Tradition and “holding back” this rebellion.  In 1820, Blessed Anne Catherine reported:-I have had another vision on the great tribulation everywhere reigning. It seemed as if something were exacted of the clergy, something that could not be granted. I saw many aged priests, some of them Franciscans, and one, in particular, a very old man, weeping bitterly and mingling their tears with those of others younger than themselves. I saw others, tepid souls, willingly acceding to conditions hurtful to religion. The old faithful in their distress submitted to the interdict and closed their churches. Numbers of their parishioners joined them; and so, two parties were formed, a good and a bad one. (ibid Vol 2, page 331).  This suggests a schism in the Church.

    I see new martyrs, not of the present but of the future, though even now they are oppressed.  I saw the secret society [Freemasonry] undermining the great church and near them a horrible Beast that arose out of the sea. (ibid; Vol 1, page 290).

    I saw the Holy Father surrounded by traitors and in great distress about the Church. He had visions and apparitions in his hour of greatest need. Isaw many good pious Bishops; but they were weak and wavering, their cowardice often got the upper hand. Isaw the black fellow [a lay person] plotting again, the destroyers [Freemasons]attacking the Church of Peter, Mary standing with her mantle over it, and the enemies of God put to flight. (ibid, Vol 1, page 131)

    In another place Blessed Anne Catherine relates:  I saw St. Peter’s. A great crowd of men were trying to pull it down whilst others constantly built it up again.  Lines connected [lines of communication?] these men one with another and with others throughout the whole world. I was amazed at their perfect understanding. The demolishers, mostly apostates and members of the different sects, broke off whole pieces and worked according to rules and instructions. They wore white aprons bound with blue riband [Blue Lodge Freemasons?]. In them were pockets and they had trowels stuck in their belts. The costumes of the others were various. There were among the demolishers distinguished men wearing uniforms and crosses .  They did not work themselves, but they marked out on the wall with a trowel where and how it should be torn down. To my horror, I saw among them Catholic priests. (emphasis added).  Whenever the workmen did not know how to go on, they went to a certain one in their party. He had a large book, which seemed to contain the whole plan of the building and the way to destroy it. They marked out exactly with a trowel the parts to be attacked, and they soon came down. They worked quietly and confidently, but slyly, furtively, and warily. I saw the Pope praying, surrounded by false friends who often did the very opposite to what he had ordered, (ibid, Vol 2, page 565)

    Blessed Anne Catherine also saw The Church being completely rebuilt and better than before with a new Pope:  Soon the whole front of the church was down; the sanctuary alone stood. I was very much troubled and I kept thinking, where is the man with the red mantle and white banner whom I used to see standing on the church to protect it.  (It is unclear who the missing man with “the red mantle and the white banner is, however, the traditional garb for the Pope is a red mozzetta, i.e. a small cape that sits around the shoulders, and a white cassock.)

    Then I saw a most majestic lady floating over the great square before the church. Her wide mantle fell over her arms as she arose gently on high, until she stood upon the cupola and spread it over all the church like golden rays. The destroyers were taking a short repose, and when they returned they could in no way approach the space covered by the mantle. On the opposite side, the repairs progressed with incredible activity.  There came men, old, crippled, long-forgotten, followed by vigorous young people, men, women, children, ecclesiastic and lay, and the edifice was soon restored. Then I saw a new Pope coming in procession, younger and far sterner looking than his predecessor. He was received with pomp. He appeared about to consecrate the church. But I heard a voice proclaiming it unnecessary as the Blessed Sacrament had not been disturbed. (ibid, page 566)  Anne Catherine also does not identify who the “majestic lady” is floating over the great square.  However, it could be interpreted allegorically as a representation of Our Holy Mother Mary who does her utmost to protect The Church.

    The same voice said that they should solemnly celebrate a double feast, a universal jubilee and the restoration of the church. The Pope, before the feast began, instructed his officers to drive out from the assembled faithful a crowd of the clergy both high and low, and I saw them going out, scolding and grumbling.  Then the Holy Father took into his service others, ecclesiastic and lay.  Now commenced the grand solemnity in St. Peter’s. The men in white aprons worked on when they thought themselves unobserved, silently, cunningly, though rather timidly.(ibid, page 566).

    Anne Catherine goes on to describe a great battle (spiritual?) overseen by St Michael (ibid, Vol 2, page 567-568).  In the battle, Our Lord Jesus Christ appeared in the sky on a great shining cross with rays proceeding from His wounds all over the world (note: by his stripes we are healed, Isaiah 53:5) .  The Immaculate Heart of Our Lady also appeared in the sky and attracted numerous souls who, by her Immaculate Heart and the current of light between the Heart and the Cross entered into the Side of Jesus (ibid, page 567-568).  This image strengthens the impression of the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the Great Sign appearing in the sky as predicted to Fr Gobi of the Marian Movement of Priests. 

    In 1973, Our Holy Mother Mary predicted to Sister Sasagawa at Akita in Japan in 1973 that:  The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres…churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord:  The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them (https://www.ewtn.com/catholicism/library/message-from-our-lady–akita-japan-5167) (Message to Sr Agnes at Akita October 13 1973).  Since Vatican II (1963 to 1965) devotion to Our Holy Mother has been discouraged.  Also, the loss of consecrated souls (i.e. priests, nuns and religious) from the service of The Lord since the late 1960s has been enormous.  Vocations to the religious life have also declined markedly.  In some respects, the Great Tribulation of the Catholic Church is well underway.

    Our Lord told Vassula Ryden in the True Life In God Messages (TLIG) that: alas! for those stubborn souls who shut their ears on these last warnings, what will you do on My Return? I am known to be Faithful and Trueand I tell you: Justice shall prevail; do not be bewildered, My child, do not stand mystified with what I have given you to write, for it has been foretold that in your days, My Church would be betrayed, by one who was My very own, just like Juda[s], and Her apostasy would come from within Her;[emphasis added] I would be betrayed by those who shared My Meals, who had bonds with Me, who drank and ate with Me; (TLIG Message August 05 1990).  

    This particular message also makes it clear that the False Prophet is alive and active in the hierarchy of the Catholic Church today, as Jesus also stated: I weep, I do; he is lodging in My House and instead of offering Me fragrant offerings and sacrifices, he is replacing these by all sorts of evil forms offered to him by the evil one: impurity, promiscuity, injustice, disobedience to My Law, debauchery and drunkenness with the blood of My prophets, My very Own…(ibid).  We only have to cast our minds over the multitude of sexual abuse scandals that have occurred in ALL the Christian Churches, that have come to light ever since the 1960s to get some idea of the extent to which the “smoke of satan” has entered The Church (and Christianity in general). 

    Finally, Our Lady predicted to Melanie at La Salette in 1846 that Rome will become the “seat of the Antichrist” (Sister Mary of the Cross, Shepherdess of La Salette, by Abbe Gouin, Expanded Edition 2015).  As indicated above, an Antipope is likely to cause a schism in the Church and drag legions of “the elect” into error.  Those who remain true to the faith will be without a Pope for a while.  We will know this for sure when the Perpetual Sacrifice, the Eucharist, is abolished.  This was also predicted by St Michael to Vassula Ryden: “look here, for over three years the Perpetual Sacrifice will be trampled; for this reason of incredible blasphemy, a third of your inhabitants shall die of iniquity; the Lord swore this by His Holiness; prepare yourself to meet God now….” (see TLIG Message dated October 14, 1994)

  • “666” A Historical Perspective

    As reported in a previous post (see The Mark of the Beast and the Idolatry of Self), the name of the Beast (the Antichrist) or number of its name (Revelations 13:16-18) is “six hundred and sixty six” (666).  Saint John tells us: Children, these are the last days; you were told that an Antichrist must come, now several antichrists have already appeared; we know from this that these are the last days. (1John 2:18).  Saint John also tells us that: every spirit which acknowledges that Jesus the Christ has come in the flesh is from God; but any spirit which will not say this of Jesus is not from God, but is the spirit of Antichrist,…(1 John 4:3).  As I mentioned in a previous post (29/10/2025), many antichrists have come throughout human history as satan uses his adepts to try to destroy us and The Church.

    In 1989, Our Lady explained to Father (Fr) Gobi of the Marian Movement of Priests (MMP)

    The number, 333, indicates the divinity (of God).  Our Lady also identified the number 666 is that of the Antichrist (Locution 407 “To The Priests Our Lady’s Beloved Sons”, 1998, page 654-655).  Our Lady further tells Fr Gobi that Lucifer, the ancient serpent, the devil or satan, the Red Dragon, becomes, in these last times, the Antichrist (ibid).  Lucifer rebels against God through pride, because he who wants to put himself above God.  333 is the number which indicates the mystery of God.  He who wants to put himself above God bears the sign 666 and consequently this number indicates the name of Lucifer, Satan, that is to say, of him who sets himself against Christ, of the Antichrist. (ibid).

    The number 333 expresses the principle mysteries of the Catholic faith (ibid).  The first expression of 333 is of the mystery of the unity of God (ibid).  The second expression of 333 is of the two natures, that of the divine and the human united in the divine Person of Jesus Christ (ibid).  The third expression of 333 is of the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity (i.e the Trinity of God; ibid).  Satan, who is the great imitator and yet unable to be God wants to put himself above God through pride and is referred too by the number 666.  This is similarly expressed three times (ibid) historically.

    Our Holy Mother Mary identified to Father Gobi three historical periods in human history connected with the spirit of antichrist (1 John 4:3).  First Our Holy Mother connected the year 666 with the rise of Islam which: denies the mystery of the divine Trinity and the divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ (To The Priests Our Lady’s Beloved Sons, 12th Oceania Edition, locution 407).  Islam claims Jesus Christ was a prophet and not the Son of God.  Islam spread quickly throughout the 7th century by military conquests, destroying all the ancient christian communities and invades Europe…(ibid).  Islam overran the Middle East, North Africa and Spain but was defeated at Tours in France by the Franks in 732AD.  The Ottoman Empire was finally stalled at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571AD.  This was achieved by the motherly intervention of Our Lady after it was: begged for powerfully by the Holy Father (Pope Pius V; ibid).

    The second expression the number is 666 twice; that brings us to the year 1332 AD.  In this period of history, the Antichrist is manifested through a radical attack on the faith in the word (Parola) of God (ibid).  In this 14th century, the Black Death (the Bubonic Plague) decimated the population of Europe reducing it by an estimated 50%.  The 100 years War also erupted between England and France (which actually lasted 116 years).  However, on a more spiritual level Humanistic Renaissance took hold in Italy.  Renaissance Humanism was an intellectual movement typified by a revived interest in the classical world and studies which focussed not on religion but on what it is to be human (https://www.worldhistory.org/Renaissance_Humanism/).  Hence, we started naval gazing.  It gave priority to reason and philosophy, human experience and encouraging a “rational” and non-religious life.  This led to the so-called “Enlightenment” and the rationalism of today that still affects our way of thinking and is not very rational a lot of the time.  Finally, the 14th century also saw the appearance of Masonic Lodges or Guilds.  Modern day Freemasonry traces its history back to these “fraternities”.  In essence, we as humans started worshiping ourselves.

    The third expression of the number 666 brings us to the year 1998.  In this period of history Our Holy Mother predicted that: Freemasonry, assisted by its ecclesiastical form, will succeed in its great design: that of setting up an idol to put in the place of Christ and of his Church.  A false christ and a false church (ibid).  As the hearts and minds of much of the population are already primed through Apostasy and with the Idolatry of Self (see the post on The Mark of The Beast); the stage is  set for the advent of the Antichrist who will no doubt initially pander to everyone’s ego.

    Interestingly, the multinational technology company Google was incorporated in 1998.  This is when the internet really took off.  It became possible to view everything human from pornography and gore to advertising and news from across the world, and to search for all sorts of information.  We now have a myriad of ways to “express ourselves” from “Facebook” to “X” (formerly Twitter) and other social media platforms.  We became fully obsessed with ourselves!  Many of our youth spend most of their spare time “gaming” or on social media preferring to communicate with each other online rather than in person.  I have observed children sitting next to each other, texting each other rather than speaking to each other.  They spend much of their time in the Temple of the Internet.  As Our Lady said to Fr Gobi about our times: You have thus arrived at the peak of the purification, of the great tribulation and of the apostasy.  The apostasy will be as of then generalized  because almost all will follow the false christ and the false church.  Then the door will be open for the appearance of the man or the very person of the Antichrist! (ibid).

  • The Abomination of Desolation

    The Abomination of Desolation is thought to be some form of idol worship set up in the Temple, thereby desecrating it.  Those who follow and worship the Antichrist (i.e. the Second Beast, the False Prophet) or themselves through the Idolatry of the Self will be practicing idolatry which is paganism.  Antiochus Epiphanes IV is thought to have desecrated the Second Temple by sacrificing a pig on the altar.  The Romans certainly desecrated the Temple by destroying it.  The Abomination of Desolation is another prophesied sign that the End Times are near.  It appears in the Book of Daniel (12:11-12) and co-occurs with the Great Apostasy which we are now seeing.  Many are waiting for this “sign” to appear, however, I believe it is already evident.

    In the Book of Revelation, Saint John tells us that the Antichrist alias The Second Beast or False Prophet: was able to win over the people of the world and persuade them to put up a statue in honour of the beast that had been wounded by the sword and still lived.  It was allowed to breathe life into this statue, so that the statue was able to speak, and to have anyone who refused to worship the statue of the beast to be put to death (13:14-15).  This indicates that the Abomination of Desolation is a physical idol of some description, most likely a creature in human form.  In the Book of Daniel the prophet indicates this will occur some time in the future: From the moment that the perpetual sacrifice is abolished and the disastrous abomination erected: one thousand two hundred and ninety days.  Blessed is he who stands firm and attains a thousand three hundred and thirty five days. (Daniel 12:11-12).  To date we have not seen this idol set up in the Church.

    As mentioned previously (see post 29/09/2025), the abolition of the Perpetual Sacrifice, the Eucharist, will allow the literal Abomination of Desolation to be setup in the sanctuary (i.e. The Church).  This may happen under the guise of a “false ecumenism”.  It may well occur during a time when the Church is without a Pope.  A number of prophesies have foretold a Schism in The Church and that it will be without a Pope for a while (e.g. Anne Catherine Emmerich and Blessed Anna Maria Tiagi).  Saint Pope Pius X foresaw:“one of my successors taking flight over the bodies of his brethren .  He will take refuge in disguise somewhere: and after a short retirement (exile) he will die a cruel death.”  (Antichrist and the End Times, 2005, Fr Joseph Iannuzzi)

    However, at a more personal and spiritual level there is another aspect to the Abomination of Desolation, that needs to be considered.  As St Paul tells us in his letter to the Romans: Ever since God created the world his everlasting power and deity, however invisible, have been there for the mind to see in the things he has made.  That is why such people (apostates) are without excuse: they knew God and yet refused to honour him as God or to thank him; instead, they made nonsense out of logic and their empty minds were darkened.  The more they called themselves philosophers, the more stupid they grew, until they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for a worthless imitation, for the image of a mortal man, of birds, of quadrupeds and reptiles.  That is why God left them to their filthy enjoyments and the practices with which they dishonour their own bodies, since they have given up divine truth for a lie and have worshipped and served creatures instead of the creator,…(Romans 1:21-25).

    From the prophecies of True Life in God (TLIG) Vassula Ryden spoke about the Apostasy and the Abomination of Desolation, especially in the West:  As a result of abandoning God, the world has become extremely violent and evil. Jesus says that people have transformed everything that is good into evil, and instead of praising God, they boast about themselves.  Many Christians have rebelled [emphasis added]… Christ’s churches are either shut down or sold and turned into restaurants, casinos, sports and entertainment facilities… And the Holy Altar, on which His Sacrifice was celebrated, remains as a table on which drinks are served or is used for any secular purpose!  This abomination of desolation is what Jesus quotes from the prophet Daniel in the book of Matthew Chapter 24!  These are the signs of the End of Times.  https://ww3.tlig.org/en/events/2015-11-19/

    The Abomination of Desolation, under the guise of the Great Apostasy, has been creeping into The Church ever since the late 1800’s when Modernism first appeared after the so-called “Age of Enlightenment”.  However, it was also evident to Saint Paul when he wrote to the Romans as quoted above.  Together with the Apostasy, the Idolatry of Self is now the norm.  As described in my previous post 10/10/2025, the Idolatry of the Self causes us to worship ourselves, i.e. the human being, the “666″ if you can hear and see that.  When we worship ourselves, we take on the “spirit of rebellion”.  By not worshipping God we become an “Abomination” in the sight of God. . As Our Lord said to Vassula Ryden: those who produce the fruit of disobedience are a living abomination in My Eyes and a condemnation of the way they disobey the Law given by My Church.  (TLIG message October 22, 1996)

    As I stated in a previous post (29/09/2025), we are meant to be Temples of the Holy Spirit and God’s Temple.  I contend, that in many ways, the Abomination of Desolation is already set up in the temple of the hearts and minds of apostates.  It is the Idolatry of Self, i.e. the putting of oneself before God.  When we worship ourselves, we expel God from the temple of our hearts and minds where He is entitled to be worshiped.

    As Saint Paul says to us: See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8).  How much longer then, will it be before we see the literal Abomination of Desolation set up in The Church?

  • The Mark of The Beast and the Idolatry of the Self

    So what is the Mark of the Beast?  Many have proposed all sorts of theories about the Mark of The Beast.  Some say it is a branding or a tattoo; others say it is a microchip placed under the skin.  Many interpret the Mark as a sign of allegiance to the Beast showing them to be followers of the Beast.  I propose that the Mark of the Beast is a spiritual sign that you acquire through the Idolatry of the Self.  I believe that many already have this spiritual Mark and worship the Beast wittingly or unwittingly.  As St John tells us The man who denies that Jesus Christ is the Christ – he is the liar, he is the Antichrist; and he is denying the Father as well as the Son. (1 John 2:22).  This describes a large proportion of the human race who deny God exists and live only for themselves.

    St John tells us that the Second Beast, the False prophet alias the Antichrist: causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.  This calls for wisdom: let him who has understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number, its number is six hundred and sixty-six. (Revelations 13:16-18).  How can the Antichrist “cause all” to be marked?  I propose that the Mark is something spiritual and intrinsic to the self that you acquire as you commit yourself to worshiping and acting for the Beast.  I propose that the Idolatry of Self allows satan claim you as his own and to sign you with his Mark.

    As this Mark is a “human number”, it is something that all of us have in common as human beings which makes it easy for satan to claim us as his own.  Jesus was able to identify us, in general, as “evil” (see Mathew 7:11-18). I contend that this Mark is something spiritual and characteristic to ALL of us.  It is our passions, our inherent selfishness that we all have to some extent; some more than others.  It guides us to put ourselves first.  If we allow this human trait to take over our lives, we forget God and lead selfish lives to the detriment of others.  However, at a basic human level, the fact that we feel pain motivates us to protect ourselves and put ourselves first.  We all do it!  Try as you might, this innate selfishness is hard to resist.

    This trait or characteristic comes to all of us from the Fall (see Genesis Ch 3).  Adam and Eve were tempted by the devil and desired the forbidden fruit.  Their sin was in consenting to the temptation.  We want things that we think are desirable or please us.  Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824) was given a plethora of visions about the life of Jesus Christ and other Biblical revelations.  She described the Fall in the following manner: I saw enclosed in Adam and Eve the corporal and spiritual life of all mankind.  I saw that by the Fall it became corrupted, mixed up with evil, and that the bad angels had acquired power over it…..By the reception of the fruit, Adam and Eve became, as it were intoxicated, and their consent to sin wrought in them a great change. It was the serpent in them.  His nature pervaded theirs, and then came the tares (i.e. the darnel) among the wheat.  (“The Life of Jesus Christ and Biblical Revelations” Vol 1, page 15)

    Spirit became matter; flesh an instrument, a vessel.  At first they were one in God, they sought self in God; but afterward they stood apart from God, they sought their own will.  And this self-will is self seeking, a lusting after sin and impurity.  By eating forbidden fruit, man turned away from his Creator.  (ibid, page 16) Like satan, who refused to serve, we became self-seeking and selfish and this trait or mark was impregnated in us at the Fall.  It is a trait that we all have.  As directed by Jesus Christ, many use their will to resist this selfishness, but many are subservient to it.

    In 2 Timothy 3, Saint Paul gives us a good description of people in “the later days” commonly regarded as these End Times:  But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of stress.  For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, inhuman, implacable, slanderers, profligates, fierce, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding the form of religion but denying the power of it.  Avoid such people (2 Timothy 3:1-5).  Does this sound familiar?  This is the personification of the Idolatry of Self.  Basically, it is putting oneself before God and others and is a contravention of the first and second commandments.

    Our Holy Mother Mary explained the Biblical symbolic language of the Mark of the Beast to Father (Fr) Gobi (Marian Movement of Priests) in 1989:  Our Lady told Fr Gobi:  These are the times when the followers of him who opposes himself to Christ are being signed with his mark on the forehead and on the hand. (Locution 410, “To The Priests Our Lady’s Beloved Sons” 1998, page 660-661).  Given this has been happening for several decades; why aren’t we seeing myriads of people with 666 or some other Mark on their hands and foreheads?  Because it is hidden in plain sight!

    Clearly, this Mark is not an overt visible sign; yet we get a sense of those who have the Mark when we encounter them.  Their narcissism tends to given them away.  Our Lady told Fr Gobi that The Mark: signifies the complete belonging of the person thus marked to the army of him who is opposed to Christ and who fights against his divine and royal dominion. (ibid)  The forehead indicates the intellect, because the mind is the seat of the human reason.

    The hand expresses human activity, because it is with the hands that man acts and works.

    He who allows himself to be signed with the mark on his forehead is led to accept the doctrine of the denial of God, of the rejection of his law and of atheism which in these times is more and more diffused and advertised. (ibid).  (People who believe in God are a minority these days.)

    He who allows himself to be signed with the mark on his hand is obliged to act in an autonomous manner and independently of God, ordering his own activities to the quest of a purely material and terrestrial good. (ibid).

    Our Lady further told Fr Gobi that he who is marked on the hand works for himself and his own gratification, well-being, pleasure and the satisfaction of all his passions especially that of impurity.  This person makes himself the centre of all his actions, objectifies and exploits others, makes money his god and becomes a victim of materialism.  This person is egotistical and loveless (ibid). In effect, they idolise themselves.  

    The Idolatry of Self gives you the Mark of the Beast.  It is a spiritual sign.  It is yet another form of paganism as we worship the human being instead of God.  As St Michael told Vassula in 1994, the world is already following satan (“True Life In God” Message: 14/10/1994, see also 1 John 5:19).  The idolatry of self is pushed to us from every aspect of secular society: the media, the internet, television, shopping, politics, our interactions with others, etc, etc.  The behaviour typifies a very large proportion of the human race.  Satan therefore already has many who are “Marked” and our current society encourages it.  

    How would the Antichrist and the Beast or satan know who was not worshipping him?  I dare say the same way that satan already knows who is against him and who is for him.  Satan is already aware of our most intimate personal details, likes and dislikes that he uses to tempt us individually and draw us into sin.  For those who need an education in this I suggest you read the four full volumes of “The Mystical City of God” by Blessed Mary of Agreda (TAN Books).  This saint died in 1665 and her body was found to be incorrupt in 1909.  Her body was examined again in 1989 and found to be unchanged.  Her body is now on display, incorrupt, at the Conceptionist Convent at Agreda in Spain.  Blessed Mary of Agreda was given a detailed account (by Our Lady) of the life of Our Holy Mother Mary and Jesus Christ which she wrote down.  This is available today.  Apart from the lives of Our Lady and Our Lord, Blessed Mary of Agreda also details the modus operandi of satan and his minions along with other Biblical revelations.  It is fascinating reading to say the least and confirms the Bible.

    How then do you avoid this Idolatry of the Self, given that we are all selfish to some extent and usually put ourselves first?  Start by “marking” yourself with the “Sign of the Cross”. .  Start down the road of repentance and conversion.  Bear in mind satan will see this and try to stop you.  Renounce yourself!  As Jesus said:  If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross every day and follow Me. For anyone who wants to save his life will lose it: but anyone who loses his life for my sake, that man will save it. What gain then, is it for a man to have won the whole world and to have lost or ruined his very self? (Luke 9:23-25; see also Mathew 16 24-26).  Our Lady asks us to: Allow yourselves to be nourished and formed by me allow yourselves to be led by me with docility; allow yourselves to be signed by me with my motherly seal.  Our Lady forms us to follow her Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ.  Our Holy Mother seals us with the Sign of The Cross (Locution 410 “To The Priests Our Lady’s Beloved Sons”, 1998, page 662).

    If you resist the Mark of the Beast, how could you be stopped from buying or selling anything?  It is probably easier than one might think.  Who does not have a Tax File Number these days?  Most countries around the world employ a Tax Identification Number or Social Security Numbering system of some description that individually identifies most of their population.  It is usually linked to your bank account.  These numbers are required for the taxation system and employment.  You need to have a bank account to get your pay these days.

    Most transactions in our times are done electronically which makes them recordable, identifiable and traceable.  Our banks love EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer).  Most of this EFT is managed by huge multinational corporations (i.e. Banks) with large scale computer systems.  I dare say that many, if not most, of these organisations already worship the Beast either wittingly or unwittingly.  Money is certainly their god.  Cash is used less and less by the population now because EFT is more “convenient”.  All that has to be done is to stop printing cash and to no longer accept it as legal tender.  If you don’t have a card number (credit or debit) you won’t be able to buy or sell anything!  You won’t be able to buy or sell anything without being known or traced.  It is therefore conceivable that if you do not worship the Beast, satan will know and your bank account will be frozen and you won’t be able to buy or sell anything.  

    After a previous natural disaster in my home region, the power went off and was off for weeks because all the powerlines were destroyed.  It took weeks to rebuild them.  Refrigerators stopped working, petrol stations could not pump fuel.  Some people had generators, but no one in that region could buy any food because EFT did not work.  The supermarkets were initially closed because they had no refrigeration and no EFT.  The roads were blocked with debris so initially supplies could not get through.  Fortunately, the government stepped in and provided cash and disaster relief, but that took time.  This demonstrated to me just how vulnerable we were and dependant on “modern ammenities”.  If the same thing happened today in a large city, it is likely that people would start starving after a few days and civil unrest could erupt.

  • The Antichrist

    The Antichrist is thought to be a key figure in the End Times.  As mentioned in my Introduction (29/09/2025) there have been many Antichrist figures throughout history (see 1 John 2:18).  It is thought that Daniel the Prophet was referring to Antiochus Epiphanes IV in his writings.  Some scholars cite the Roman Emperor Nero as the figure referred to by Saint John in the Book of Revelations (Ch 13).  But as I mentioned previously, human history keeps repeating itself and these figures keep popping up.  As I said earlier Sacred Scripture has a timeless element to it and is as relevant today as it was when it was written.  So we could expect this figure to show up again.  The world is now certainly evil enough for that.  As repeatedly happened throughout the Old Testament, the Israelites fell away from their faith, into idolatry and were punished to bring them back again.  Why should we be treated any differently?

    In the Bible, the Antichrist figure is referred to by a few different names depending on the Book of the Bible and the version that you read.  St Paul (2 Thessalonians 2) refers to him as the Man of Lawlessness or The Rebel.  Other versions describe him as the Man of Perdition.  The Antichrist is assumed to be a male figure. Given that the devil hates women, a male figure would be more to his liking.  Remember, it is a woman who will crush satan’s head (Genesis 3:15).  In Revelations Ch13, St John calls him the Second Beast and the False Prophet.  In popular culture he is generally identified as “The Antichrist”.

    In his book: “Antichrist and the End Times” (2005), Fr Joseph Iannuzzi identifies two Antichrist figures in the Bible.  The False Prophet mentioned in Chapters 13 and 19 of the Book of Revelation who gets his authority from the Beast and appears before an “Era of Peace” most likely in our times.  The second Antichrist figure, Gog who gets his authority from Magog and appears at the end of an Era of Peace when satan is released from hell again and proceeds to his final defeat.  I will restrict this blog to the Second Beast or the False Prophet of Revelation Chapters 13 and 19 who appears before the Era of Peace as that “Era” has obviously not yet come.  

    In the True Life in God (TLIG) messages while addressing the followers of the beast, Our Lord identifies the Second Beast of Revelations 13 as the False Prophet: “one day, servants of the Beast, together with the False Prophet, alias the second Beast, you will bear the weight of your faults, and they will be as grave as Death;” (TLIG Message 19/06/1995). 

    The Antichrist is described in Revelations 13 as making “the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast” (Revelations 13:12).  The Antichrist is said to work “great signs, even making fire come down from heaven in the sight of men;…” (Revelations 13:13).  He is said to deceive the population and entice them to make an image of the first beast and worship it (Revelations 13:14-15).  He is said to breathe life into this image so that it speaks and those who do not worship it are slain.  Further he causes all to be marked on the right hand or forehead with the name or “number of the beast” (i.e. 666) so that no one can buy or sell anything unless he has the Mark of the Beast (Revelations 13:16-18).  The Antichrist is likely to be extremely narcissistic and manipulative; in essence, full of himself.  He is likely to be the personification of the Idolatry of Self.  He will claim to be God (2 Thessalonians 2).

    Our Lady predicted to Melanie at La Salette in 1846 that Rome would become the “seat of the Antichrist”.  According to this prophecy (Sister Mary of the Cross; Shepherdess of La Salette, by Abbe Gouin, Expanded Edition 2015) the Antichrist will be born a Jew from a Hebrew nun who “has communications with the devil” and his father will be a bishop (presumably Catholic). 

    From the Book of Daniel: ”He (the Antichrist) will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering (i.e. the Eucharist). And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.” (Daniel 9:27).  As Saint Michael said to Vassula Ryden in 1994: “look here, for over three years the Perpetual Sacrifice (the Eucharist) will be trampled; for this reason of incredible blasphemy, a third of your inhabitants shall die of iniquity; the Lord swore this by His Holiness; prepare yourself to meet God now….” (see TLIG Message 14/10/1994 The Perpetual Sacrifice will be Trampled).  St Michael further told Vassula that the world is already following satan: “I have told you all this with no pleasure, for the devil today, in your generation, is given great honours; he was a murderer from the beginning and a liar, and now he is worshipped as a father; the honours are given to him instead; in your days, they bow low before his works and in this way, your generation has drawn down punishment on themselves;…” (TLIG Message:; 14/10/1994).  It therefore won’t be difficult for the Antichrist to convince the world to follow the Beast as many already do so.

    Throughout the messages of TLIG Our Lord repeatedly warns us of the imminence of the prophesied events.  (see TLIG 18/05/1991; 01/12/1987; 18/02/1995; 14/12/2009 to cite just a few).  It is therefore likely that the Antichrist is alive on earth at this time, possibly somewhere in Israel.  When he comes to power, the Antichrist will persecute faithful Catholics and Christians alike, or anyone who refuses to pay him homage. Considering the amount of strife in the Middle East at this time it is likely the Antichrist is already at work (2 Thessalonians 2:6).  He is said to be able to perform all sorts of false miracles and prodigies, most likely with the aid of legions of demons.  It is likely the Jews will initially proclaim this person as their messiah as it is very unlikely they would accept anyone who is not Jewish.

    When the Antichrist thinks he has won and tries to “rise to heaven”, as predicted by Our Lady at La Salette, he will be struck down by St Michael and the “Breath of God” and condemned to hell along with all his followers.  Saint John tells us he will be “thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with brimstone” (Revelations 19:20).

  • The Great Apostasy

    Apostasy is the abandonment of one’s faith on a personal level.  The Great Apostasy is the widespread abandonment of the practice of faith across the population.  This appears to be well underway and has been increasingly so since the first French Revolution and the advent of the so-called “Age of Enlightenment”.  It appears to have gathered pace since the so-called “Age of Enlightenment”,the late 19th century and again after the postwar period of the 20th century.  In the Catholic Church Apostasy increased steadily after the Second Vatican Council (Vatican II) ended in the mid 1960s.  We saw the so-called “Sexual Revolution” of the 1960s and 1970s and, what I call the “Idolatry of Self” took hold.

    In 1846 Our Lady told Melanie of La Salette that:  “In the year 64 [1864, 1964], Lucifer together with a great number of demons will be unloosed «unleashed» from hell. They will put an end to Faith little by little, even in those dedicated «consecrated» to God”. (Sister Mary of the Cross; Shepherdess of La Salette, by Abbe Gouin, Expanded Edition 2015).  It is unclear if Our Lady told Melanie that the year “64” meant either 1864 or 1964.  I contend that the reference is to both time periods as the Apostasy really picked up pace after the mid 1960s and a few other things appear to have happened.

    Malachi Martin in his book “Windswept House” and others have talked of an event called the “Enthronement of Satan” that reputedly took place in the Vatican by unnamed members of the hierarchy of the Church.  We know that Exorcists reported that it suddenly got a lot harder to exorcise demons after about the mid 1960s.  In June, 1972. the then Pope Paul VI, concerned about the Church wrote:  “… We would say that, through some mysterious crack—no, it’s not mysterious; through some crack, the smoke of Satan has entered the Church of God. There is doubt, uncertainty, problems, unrest, dissatisfaction, confrontation. The Church is no longer trusted. We trust the first pagan prophet we see who speaks to us in some newspaper, and we run behind him and ask him if he has the formula for true life. I repeat, doubt has entered our conscience.     Things certainly deteriorated in Europe after 1864 and the Age of Enlightenment took hold.  There was the Franco-Prussian war of 1870; yet another revolution in France; a revolution in Italy where the Vatican was attacked, not to mention the famines that were predicted at La Salette.  Following on the heals of this we had the events of the 20th century and the so-called “War to end all Wars”.  Further, as predicted by Our Lady at Fatima in 1917, a Second World War.  And how many wars have there been since then?  The erosion of faith in our religious institutions has steadily gained pace since the first French Revolution.  The numerous sexual abuse scandals throughout the Church in the second half of the 20th century have only served to foster this growing Apostasy.  How many Catholics still practice their faith these days?  Church attendances have been declining across the board for decades.

    It is the Great Apostasy that allows the Antichrist to influence the hearts and minds of the population.  It is likely the Antichrist will use the Idolatry of Self to win over many hearts and minds.  As I mentioned in an earlier Post (29/09/2025), “the only way the Antichrist can install himself and exalt himself above God; is by inserting himself in the hearts and minds of those who believe him and those from The Church who have fallen away from the true faith, or that he is able to persuade”.  St Paul makes it clear the Antichrist cannot appear until there is the Great Apostasy (2 Thessalonians 2:3).  

    I believe the ability of the Antichrist to seduce a large part of the faithful will be fostered by the Great Apostasy and the confusion that is apparent in our world today.  This confusion was predicted by Melanie of La Salette:  “17. Each individual will wish to be his own guide and to be superior to his fellow men «his likes, i.e., either to his peers or to his human leaders».”  (Sister Mary of the Cross; Shepherdess of La Salette, by Abbe Gouin, Expanded Edition 2015).

    In the current age, people are given over to all sorts of wacky ideas, conspiracy theories, new age and other diabolically or personally inspired bits of nonsense.  People claim their own personal truth as “The Truth” as did Pilat to Jesus Christ (John 18:38).  In a lot of ways, Pilat’s retort to Jesus “what is truth”, before condemning him to death, prefigures the great confusion in the world today before Christ’s return.  The Great Apostasy and concomitant confusion will allow the Antichrist to easily influence millions of gullible people who will be taken in by his so called signs, wonders and false miracles when he appears.  The influence of social media is likely to be of profound importance with this process.
